The Management of Ikokwu Traders Association have expressed optimism that the new commissioner of Police in the state will ensure, justice is served in the case of late Chima Ikwunado and the surviving Ikokwu four.
In a statement to journalists, yesterday, the Chairman of the Association, Anthony Alalibole said the association advocated for the redeployment of the former CP, Mustapha Dandaura due to his perceived bias on the matter.
Anthony who assured the new CP, Joseph Mukan of the association’s support, urged him to expedite actions in ensuring that the officers involved are brought to justice
You would recall that Chima Ikwunado and four others were arrested by officers of the Eagle crack team attached to the mile 1 Police station and tortured severely. This allegedly resulted in the death of Chima, an auto mobile mechanic at Ikokwu.
The act sparked criticism from Civil Society Organizations, religious bodies and members of the public
