The Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Amb. Ihunwo Chijioke has donated ten million naira towards an empowerment scheme instituted by the Mayor of Port Harcourt, Hon. Ezebunwo Ichemati n honor of Late Nnamdi Wokekoro.
Ihunwo the donation when he appeared as a special guest to represent Rt. Hon. Ehie Edison the Chief of Staff Rivers State Government House to commission and handover of Oro-Abali Community playground donated by the Mayor of Port Harcourt City, Hon. Ezebunwo Ichemati to the Oro-Abali Community.
Ihunwo said the playground serves as a vital recreational space for residents of the community.
“What is happening here this afternoon is a good one and our brother have seen the need to provide this facility for our people to interact and bond together. He has said about empowerment, the man he mentioned is a man who supported both the people of Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt City, he is an empowerment machine and the Mayor wants to immortalize him by doing empowerment, I’m supporting that empowerment with the sum of ten million naira,” he said.
He called on the people to continue to pray for His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara the Executive Governor of Rivers State, and reiterated that governor Fubara will govern Rivers State for eight years.
“Continue to pray for the Governor of Rivers State, they said we will not present budget we have presented budget to the only one Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oko Jumbo, and be rest assured that Sir Siminalayi Fubara will be governor for eight years,” he added.
