The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has arrived at the Niger State Government House in Minna over the death of 37 suspected illegal miners in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
According to a statement by the NPF, Disu was received by Niger State Governor Umaru Bago during the visit.
The Inspector-General commiserated with the state government and assured that the circumstances surrounding the deaths would be subjected to a thorough and transparent investigation.
The visit followed concerns over the deaths of the suspected illegal miners while in NSCDC custody.
