Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has said that the state government is ready to deal with those who steal manhole covers.

The Governor, in a statement yesterday, said it is disheartening that people could steal manhole covers, despite knowing its importance.

He described such persons as saboteurs who are out to sabotage the work of the state government.

The governor also said he did not become Governor for people to like his face but to deliver projects to his people, adding that he will touch anybody that touches him.

“It doesn’t matter where you come from, if you like, give it ethnic coloration, we will treat you as a saboteur since you have decided to sabotage our works,” he said.

“I didn’t become governor for anyone to like my face, I became governor to deliver projects to my people and that’s what I’m doing,” he added.
