Minister of Transportation and former Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has said that there is a sinister plot by a group of persons in the state to tarnish his image by linking him to a court case involving the APC in the state.
Amaechi in a statement by his Media Office on Friday warned the group to immediately desist from what he described as a false, ill-conceived narrative and evil plot. He also claimed to know those sponsoring the said persons to tarnish his image.
“We are aware of plots by a group attempting to muddle the name of the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi by dragging him into an ongoing court case involving the All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State. “We will shame them publicly in due time if they don’t put a stop to their nefarious, ungodly, treacherous plans,” the statement read.
Amaechi had weeks ago said he is not a violent politician. This was while reacting to the crises rocking the ruling APC. He also shocked many when he claimed to know nothing about the crises, and doesn’t intend to get involved, as he had resolved to “siddon look.”
The Rivers State Chapter of the APC has been in disarray for years as there are two factional groups claiming to be the legitimate Excos of the party. While one of the groups is loyal to the minister, the other is loyal to Sen. Magnus Abe
