Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has raised concern over quality of post graduate degrees awarded at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education.
Wike, made this clarification at the award of post graduate degrees to students of the Ignatius Ajuru University at the weekend.
Represented by his deputy Ipalibo Harry Banigo, Gov Wike raised concerns on the quality of post graduate degrees awarded to students without valuable knowledge and cautioned against the lowering standard of education at the school
‘’Universities are not considered to be successful by the number of students it graduates but by the qualIty of education it transmit…’’ he said.
Wike also urged the Acting Vice Chancellor of the school Prof Okey Onochukwu as well as management of other Rivers Varsities to move beyond mere building infrastructures for the purposes of accreditation but also concentrate on increasing the level of education and the quality of degrees awarded by the school.
