Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has alleged that the NDDC brought out a whopping sum of N10bn to stop his re-election as governor in 2019.
The outspoken governor who made this known in an interview on Channels Television on Tuesday, said that he is not surprised over the allegations of financial misappropriation levelled against the commission.
He said, the NDDC has since deviated from its original mandate of developing the region which was why it was set up and has become a cash cow for some corrupt politicians.
“Unfortunately, they have turned it to a different thing; NDDC is a cash cow for politicians. In my own election, NDDC brought N10 billion cash to fight against me,” the governor alleged.
