The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday has ordered the release of all tankers cleared of carrying illegally refined petroleum products.
The CP, issued the directive after a meeting with Tanker drivers, officials of the government and stakeholders in the petroleum sector to end the lingering fuel scarcity witnessed in the state.
The Police Boss, also appealed to Local Council Chairmen to be considerate when implementing state traffic laws on parking on major roads beyond six hours.
He noted that a task force has been set up to arrest all illegal taskforce across the state.
Meanwhile, Tanker drivers have called off its strike after the meeting with the state Police Boss.
