Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed appreciation to the people of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area for giving him the opportunity to serve them.
Fubara spoke on Wednesday during the commissioning of the Entrepreneurship Centre and Faculty of Engineering buildings at the Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic in Port Harcourt.
The governor assured the people of Obio/Akpor that he would demonstrate his commitment to them when the campaign for the next elections begins.
He also expressed satisfaction with the level of peace recorded across Rivers State, saying the newly completed projects would strengthen entrepreneurship and technical skills development in the institution.
Fubara urged students and the management of the polytechnic to protect and properly maintain the facilities.
The Rector of the institution, Dr Moses Neebee, thanked the governor for providing the projects and appealed for additional infrastructure and other interventions to address the institution’s needs.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, Dr Gift Worlu, said the projects would equip students with the skills needed to become employers of labour and contribute meaningfully to the economy.
The projects were awarded on October 9, 2025, and completed within nine months.
