Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Wednesday paid a visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, marking his second trip in less than 48 hours.
Governor Fubara led a delegation of Ogoni leaders to present the report of a Dialogue Committee set up to collate the views of stakeholders on the region’s lingering challenges. The committee included traditional rulers, clergy, and community representatives.
The initiative stemmed from President Tinubu’s meeting with Ogoni leaders in January 2025, where concerns over environmental restoration, the sustainable resumption of oil activities, and broader economic development were discussed.
The submitted report is expected to guide the federal government’s efforts toward accelerating the Ogoni cleanup and implementing development projects aimed at improving the lives of residents.
