Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has resumed inspection of ongoing road projects across the state as contractors return to sites following the lifting of the state of emergency.
On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Governor Fubara visited the 19.7-kilometre Buguma-Tema-Degema-Abonema Road, which cuts across three local government areas in Kalabari Kingdom, and the 9.7-kilometre Ogbakiri Road in Emohua Local Government Area.
Speaking during the inspection, the governor described the projects as vital to improving connectivity and easing movement for residents, assuring that the Ogbakiri Road would be completed before the end of the year.
“We came in to inspect one of the projects we were doing before the state of emergency. This project is very important because it connects the Ogbakiri people to the East-West Road with ease,” Fubara said.
Governor Fubara was accompanied on the inspection by the management of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc and the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Hon. Chidi Lloyd.
