Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed disappointment over the damage recorded on parts of the newly constructed Ndele-Agba/Ndele-Otari-Omaraka Road and Bridge project.
Fubara spoke on Wednesday during the commissioning of the project, which connects communities in Emohua and Abua/Odual Local Government Areas.
The governor urged the chairmen of the two local government areas to take ownership of the infrastructure and ensure its proper protection and maintenance.
He said the road and bridge would significantly reduce travel time to Port Harcourt while improving the socio-economic wellbeing of residents in the benefiting communities.
Fubara also commended the communities for their cooperation with the contractor, noting that their support contributed to the timely completion of the project.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Emohua LGA, Dr Chidi Lloyd, thanked Governor Fubara for executing the road and bridge project and approving the outcome of the recent biometric exercise.
