Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has commended women judges for their contributions to justice delivery, good governance, gender equality and national development.
Fubara gave the commendation on Friday at a dinner organised in honour of participants at the South-South Regional Conference of the National Association of Women Judges of Nigeria (NAWJN), held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Port Harcourt.
Represented by the Head of the Rivers State Civil Service, Dr. Inyingi S. I. Brown, the Governor described the conference as an important gathering of accomplished women in the judiciary and congratulated the association on its successful outing.
He noted that beyond dispensing justice with fairness, courage and integrity, women judges serve as role models to young women aspiring to careers in law, public service and national leadership.
The Governor stressed that no society could achieve its full potential when women are denied opportunities, assuring that his administration remains committed to promoting fairness, inclusiveness and equal opportunities in governance and public service.
He urged the association to strengthen mentorship networks, support young female lawyers and create opportunities for the next generation of women leaders.
Fubara further assured that the Rivers State Government would continue to support initiatives aimed at advancing justice, promoting women’s leadership and strengthening democratic institutions.
