Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared President Bola Ahmed Tinubu winner of the All Progressives Congress presidential primary in the state after securing 280,468 votes across the 23 local government areas.

Fubara, who acted as the State Coordinator and Collation Officer for the exercise, said Tinubu swept all votes cast during the primary election, while businessman Stanley Osifo failed to record any vote in the councils announced.

While declaring the outcome, the governor praised party officials and stakeholders for conducting what he described as a peaceful and organised exercise across Rivers State.

He disclosed that the APC had 297,068 registered members recognised for the primary election, while 280,082 members were accredited and participated in the exercise.

According to Fubara, the figures announced accurately reflected results collated from the 23 local government areas in the state.
Obio/Akpor Local Government Area recorded the highest votes for Tinubu with 28,680 votes, followed by Port Harcourt City with 17,522 votes and Khana with 17,085 votes.
