Fresh Manna 30 September
MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Phil 1:6)
READ: HEB. 12:1-6
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. 4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. 5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
In our scripture reading for today, Jesus is called the author and finisher of our faith. This simply means that He is interested, both in the beginning and ending of the affairs of your life. A lot of people are trapped by the fear of failure and misfortunes of life. They are afraid, when fortune smiles at them, feeling that tomorrow may bring some evil occurrences. Well, the Word of God makes it clear today that He that has begun the work in you is able to bring it to a perfect end. Some pregnant women develop what is called “pregnancy induced high blood pressure”, because they are afraid that they may not survive the stress of gestation and the attendant labour pains. Whatever God has started in your life, He is able to finish. Why some projects are abandoned is because sometimes, due to human limitations and frailties the initiators of such projects are removed from office or they may run out of funds. Our God is eternal, His throne and majesty is established forever and ever. He cannot be dethroned or removed from office. Again, He is the owner of Heaven and earth. He cannot run out of funds or resources to finish whatever He has started in your life. Whatever God has initiated, He is able to sustain and protect until it is done. His nature of faithfulness guarantees your victory at last. Are you a new believer whose old friends have given a time frame to backslide? And right now, you are afraid because the pressure is much against you. Don’t worry, God is able to keep you till the end.

PRAYER POINT: Thou Perfect Finisher, I commit my today and tomorrow unto You, take control. LORD, I thank You because You are in charge of the affairs of life.
