MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, the LORD is with thee, thou might man of valour.” (Judg.6:12)
READ: JUDGE 6:7-8
7 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD because of the Midianites, 8 That the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;
The greatest enemy that stands between Men and the fulfillment of God’s purpose for their lives is ignorance which manifests in many ways. Fear, low self-esteem, insecurity etc. are the enemies of your full manifestation.
This was the problem that Gideon had, he had some great potentials and the hand of God was upon his life, but he was ignorant of it. While other Israelites hid in caves and crack of the rock, Gideon had the courage to come out and harvest his fields to hide it from the Midianites. That little courage was all God needed to lay hand on him to become a deliverer to his people.
When eventually the LORD met Gideon, and addressed him as a mighty man of Valour, Gideon could not accept this title because he felt he was unqualified. This was the problem that Moses had when God said to him, I am sending you to go deliver my people who are in Egypt. Moses reaction was “who am I, that I should go unto Pharoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?” (Exod.3:11)
Until you begin to see the way God sees you, you may not be able to fit into His plan for your life. Seeing yourself in God’s eye, means accepting what He says concerning you and depending on His strength. After all the complaint of Gideon, God simply said to him, “go in this thy mighty,” meaning that what was deposited in him was already enough to fight and conquer whatever enemy that might be facing him.
TURNING POINT: Until you begin to see the way God sees you, you may not be able to fit into His plan for your life.
PRAYER POINT: Father, help me to discover what is in me so that I can use it.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1CHRON.17,18,19; JN.10:1-21
