MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual restore such an one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.” ( Gal. 6:1)
READ: JN.8:1-8
Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. 2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. 3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
The spirit of true Christianity is founded on brotherly love and self-abasement, knowing that a man can receive nothing unless it is given to him from above (John 19:11). We should learn to appreciate God for every grace we have and serve Him with the same. The measure of true Christian maturity is not a function of years spent or offices held in the body of Christ. It is your ability to put God’s grace to work in building the body of Christ. Perfecting the Saints, one of the ways we do this is by restoring the weak and the fallen. Our churches are filled up with men and women who are emotionally broken and spiritually fallen. Some are held down by shame and guilt because, Satan took advantage of them. Others are disappointed and despondent because of wound caused by broken relationships and betrayals. In the battle front, soldiers are not honoured or congratulated for exposing or destroying their fellows even such as have fallen, use your spiritual strength and wisdom to restore the fallen. And build up the body of Christ; this is the will of God. Even when we correct others, we are enjoined to do so in the spirit of meekness because no one is immune from mistakes and spiritual shipwreck. In a situation where you see some people as unworthy and not deserving mercy such is only a manifestation of spiritual pride.
TURNING POINT: The measure of True Christian maturity is not by function of years spent or offices held in the body of Christ. It is your ability to put God’s grace to work in building the body of Christ. Perfecting the Saints .
PRAYER POINT: Dear Lord, grant me grace to be a strong shoulder for the weak to lean on.
