MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “For all the land which thou seest to thee will I give it and to thy seed forever” (Gen.13:15)
READ: JERE 1:11-12
11 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. 12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
Your vision is your propelling force toward higher grounds. Vision in this context is not referring to supernatural revelation or insight, rather it means painting the right mental pictures and focusing on them. When God called Abraham to follow Him, He did not give him any supernatural dream of the promise Land. Abraham simply followed the voice of God by faith knowing that He cannot lie. Abraham took his nephew, Lot on this all-important journey of destiny. It was not long, Lot showed the stuff he was made of and Abraham had to separate from him. It was at this point that God had to show him the length and breathe of the promise Land but he had to see it with his eyes.
Success begins with your ability to see where you are going. Why we have so may drop out today and failed projects is simply because of lack of vision. A future you cannot see, you cannot embrace. Joseph had a dream; he saw a future of greatness with his whole family bowing in respect of him. I believe that throughout his stay in the house of Potiphar this dream was fresh in his heart. That was why he could resist the temptation of Potiphar’s wife knowing he had a greater future. The first step towards actualizing your dream is having a good mental picture of what you desire. This vision becomes your term of reference for actions and plans. Success comes in bits but you must have the big picture or prospect from the beginning to the end.
TURNING POINT: A Future you cannot see you cannot embrace.
PRAYER POINT: Father, open my eyes to see!
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: NEH.1.2.3: ACTS 2:1-13
