MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitude followed him, and he healed them all” (Matt.12:15).
READ: MATT. 12:15-21
15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; 16 And charged them that they should not make him known: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, 18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. 19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. 20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. 21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
Knowing what is written concerning you and dedicating your whole life and actions towards it realization is a great blessing. As Jesus went about doing good, bringing liberation and joy to many lives, the religious leaders of his days were threatened, they were fast loosing popularity and their strong hold over the people with falsehood was fast disappearing. To stop this supposed ugly trend, they decided to kill Jesus. We know that before His birth, the prophecy of His vicarious was already written in the scriptures. But He knew it was not the right time so He hide Himself. The preacher rightly told us that there is time for everything and a season for every purpose under the sun. Knowing what to do, when and how to do it is the secret of great leaders.
Jesus was not being a coward when He hid Himself; rather He was trying to save Himself from untimely death and termination of His mandate. Premature manifestation is the reason why so many destiny carriers have suffered a shipwreck. Permit me to say that this may be one of the reasons why John the Baptist had to die the way he did. His mission was to announce the coming of the Messiah. He did this successfully but then extended his influence into political matters (Mark 6:18). Right actions or words undertaken in the wrong timing and circumstances can be disastrous. Staying within your limit and operating only where you are graced will save you from unnecessary confrontations and pains.
TURNING POINT: Staying within your limit and operating only where you are graced will save you from unnecessary confrontations and pains.
PRAYER POINT: Lord, help me to operate within the limit of my calling in Jesus Name.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Chron.26,27,28; JN.17
