TEXT: REVELATION 3:7-22
MEMORY VERSE: “Behold, I come quickly; hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown” (Revelation 3:11 KJV).
There are grabbers everywhere. There are thieves everywhere too. All these are clandestine. They are not usually obvious. But only those who allow or those that are careless or unserious, would become victims. The evil one, the world and all its pleasures, attractions, distractions, lust of the heart and eyes, unreasonableness, incontinence, and much more are robbers that are lurking everywhere and around us to steal our crown of glory.
Our Lord has told us before time that He is coming soon. We should not be taken unawares. Many centuries have passed since He said so; and for that reason, many people across the world do not take it seriously anymore. Many have become complacent. This is a wrong approach. A diligent student is on top of his studies always, irrespective of when a test or exam would come.
As Christians engaged in the kingdom race, we should be always conscious of the necessity for tuning our hearts to embrace the things of God alone, and completely severing ourselves from those things that are not helpful in the race. We should train ourselves to admit into our life only the things that edify us to glory; and to steer away from such that destroy our relationship with God.
The reason for the revelation is that we may be alert and treat the race business-like. No casual Christian would inherit the Kingdom of God; this is serious (Rev. 3:14-16). Let us remember this truth always.
- Be conscious to gain and retain your crown of glory.
- God, grant me grace to protect whatever you have given me.
