MEDITATION SCRIPTURE: “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” (1Tim.1:15)
READ: 2 COR.5:17
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
When Paul said, “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am chief”, no bible student will argue with this fact. Paul later described himself as an injurious person, a persecutor and an enemy of the people of God (1 Tim.1:13). His encounter with Jesus, the husband of the church, on his way to Damascus changed all that. Yes, the life of the believer is a transformed life. No one comes into contact with the man of Calvary and his life remains the same. All the saints of old had this testimony of transformation. Mathew the tax collector, Mary the harlot, Nichodemus the Judaizer, Zacchaeus the extortioner, etc, were all changed by a single encounter. The transforming power of the gospel did not expire with the Bible saints. Today we have testimonies of notorious armed robbers, ritual killers, occult grand masters, witches and wizards being transformed by the power of the gospel. If you are genuinely born again, you know that this testimony is true because you have your own story of conversion to tell. If you are sharing this message in a group, I will encourage that you share your salvation experience with the rest of the group to further validate this truth. Anyone who claims to be in Christ, without the testimony of a transformed life, is only deceiving his own heart. If what we are saying today sounds strange to you, it is simply because you have not experienced the genuine salvation process. All you need to do is confess your sins to Jesus, invite Him into your life and His peace will become your portion. Even today, the gospel is still the power of God unto salvation, turning sinners to saints.
TURNING POINT: Anyone who claims to be in Christ, without the testimony of a transformed life, is only deceiving his own heart.
PRAYER POINT: Dear LORD, I pray for every sinner reading this today, let the transforming power of the gospel transform them.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: PROV.9,10; 1 COR.15:1-32
