A Local Vigilante Group known as OSPAC, in Alakahia, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, has arrested a mini-bus driver for knocking down four school children of the Alakahia State Primary School, who were attempting to cross the road on Friday.
Sources say the children were standing in front of the school when they were hit by the driver over suspected break failure, leaving them with broken arms, legs and skin tears.
An eyewitness in a chat with Journalists, said the children were immediately rushed to the Accident and Emergency Ward of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a staff of the hospital in a statement said the children who were seriously injured, are responding to treatment.
The whereabout of the driver is still unknown as efforts to reach the Commander of the Vigilante Group was not successful.
