The Executive Chairman of Okrika Local Government Council of Rivers State, Hon. Akuro Tobin in a bid to mitigate the impact of the predicted flood in the area by NiMET has declared a special sanitation exercise for every last Saturday of every month.
Tobin in a statement said the exercise will hold from 7:00am – 10:00am.
He said the exercise is to ensure that all drainages and water channels are cleared and free from all forms of blockage.
He noted that the council is doing everything possible to mitigate the impact of this year’s flood in the area.
He called on residents to participate in the exercise to keep the LGA clean.
