The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State is demanding a probe by the state House of Assembly into the usage of the monthly ecological fund the state receives following the impact of flood in parts of the state.
State Publicity Secretary of the party, Darlington Nwauju made the call in a statement at the weekend in Port Harcourt.
He also called on the state government to declare an environmental emergency in the Orashi region that have been submerged.
He urged the government to publish short and medium term plan to handle flooding in the state.
Many communities in the state have been sacked by flood.
The state government had released the sum of N1 billion for emergency relief measures to support flood victims, especially in Ahoada West and also set up a task force to coordinate the distribution of relief materials to persons.
