Teachers of Demonstration Secondary Schools in Rivers State, have pleaded with Governor, Nyesom Wike to obey the ruling of the National Industrial Court that ordered him to pay them their salaries.

The teachers during a peaceful protest in Port Harcourt, said they have not been paid salaries for over 5 years, despite serving the state effectively.

The teachers said they can hardly take care of their families due to lack of funds, and that some of them have lost their lives to treatable ailments.
