Unknown gunmen on Tuesday, abductive five persons along the Bonny-Onne waterways in Rivers State.
Solomon Adeniyi, Marine Police Officer-in-charge of Bonny, disclosed this in a statement shortly after the incident.
He said two females and three males were abducted from a 10 passenger speed boat, while the others were allowed to continue the journey.
Adeniyi, noted that the incident have been reported to the Marine Police in Port Harcourt, based on jurisdiction by the driver of the boat.
He confirmed that plans are underway to rescue the abductees and arrest the abductors.
Recall that some staff of the Maritime Union of Nigeria were abducted by unknown gunmen few weeks ago.
