President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Nigerian Senate to approve an external loan of N2.3trillion to finance the 2021 budget deficit.

Senate President, Ahmed Lawan made this known when he read the President’s letter at plenary on Tuesday.

The loan is to enable the Federal Government fund critical infrastructural projects across the nation.

Meanwhile, some stakeholders have criticized the move, stating that the Buhari-led administation was borrowing too much with little or no impact made with the monies.
