The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the ban on the purchase of official vehicles with the exception of ambulances, fire-fighting and other essential vehicles. This according to the FG is part of measures to curtail non-essential spending.
Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity made the revelation while presenting a document titled, “What you need to know about the Nigeria Economic Sustainability Plan” in Abuja yesterday, to journalists.
Contained in the document developed by the Economic Sustainability Committee (ESC) spearheaded by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, were eight important interventions.
These include mass agricultural programme, infrastructure, informal sector support, business support for MSMEs, technology, expansion of National Social Investment Programmes, cut in non-essential spending and support for state governments.
