The Federal Government of Nigeria has donated fire fighting equipments to the Rivers State Government.
Governor Nyesom Wike, disclosed this while receiving the equipments from the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola who was represented by a senior staff in the ministry.
Wike, who commended the minister for the gesture, said the allocation of basic and social amenities by the Federal Government in States should be devoid of politics.
He said deployment of the equipments will further help in the protection of lives and property in the State.
Wike, stated that States and the Federal government ought to compliment each other for the growth and development of the country.
The Governor, also explained that most of the recent incidents of fire outbreaks in the State and elsewhere in the country, are mainly due to negligence.
One fighting truck, one water tanker and basic life support ambulance of the Federal Fire Service were amongst the equipments donated.
