The Federal Government has officially declared Thursday, December 25, and Friday, December 26, 2025, as public holidays to mark Christmas and Boxing Day celebrations.
Additionally, Thursday, January 1, 2026, has been declared a public holiday to celebrate the New Year.
The announcement was made in a statement on Monday by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The declaration ensures that both public and private sectors can observe the festive season.
