The Federal Government has approved N4 billion for conditional cash transfers to support vulnerable households in Nigeria.
Announcing the initiative during the launch of the 2025 Nigeria Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan at the United Nations House in Abuja on Thursday, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Professor Nentawe Yilwada, stated that the intervention aims to address the nation’s escalating humanitarian crisis.
The programme is expected to benefit at least 10 million displaced households, focusing on the most vulnerable, particularly those affected by displacement in the Northeast. Scheduled to run from February to April, the cash transfers will target the immediate needs of affected families.
