The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has said it will investigate a cosmetic surgery outfit, Med Contour, over alleged botched surgeries of patients.
Med Contour came under scrutiny after a Twitter user, @Omohtee12, complained of a botched surgery she had with the firm. In the video she posted on her handle before it was deleted, she claimed to have spent huge sums of money to recover after the surgery, saying she had also suffered some mental trauma.
A tweet by FCCPC on Wednesday reads: “UPDATE: In furtherance of an open investigation, on reasonable suspicion of illegal activities (S.18(1) FCCPA), FCCPC today sealed Med Contour in an abundance of caution & consumer safety pending further inquiry”.
As at the time of closure, the whereabouts of the owner of the facility Dr. Anu Fella is unknown.
