The families of the five men kidnapped during a burial ceremony in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State have pleaded with the state government to secure the release of their loved ones.
One of the daughters of the victims, Keppy Hart in a chat with journalists yesterday while pleading with the state government to intervene and ensure the release of her father said the abductors have demanded the sum N10 million for each of the victims.
She said while on phone with the abductors the father could be heard screaming as he was being beaten. Hart noted that her father pleaded with them and the state government to help secure his freedom.
Meanwhile, Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni in a chat with journalists yesterday said the command is working tirelessly to ensure the release of the victims.
He appealed to the families of the victims to remain calm as the command is on course to arrest the abductors and ensure the release of their loved ones.
