A fake United States of American Military Officer, Chibueze Okenwa also known as Rodriguez has been sentenced to two years imprisonment by a Federal High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt for impersonation and internet fraud.
Justice E.A. Obile in his ruling, sentenced Okenwa to two years imprisonment with an option of three hundred and fifty thousand naira fine.
Okenwa had earlier pleaded not guilty to a one count charge bordering on impersonation, when he was arraigned on March 4, 2021 by the Port Harcourt Zonal office of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Okenwa later pleaded guilty to the charge on March 18, 2021 at the resumed hearing of the case.
After he pleaded guilty, the defense counsel prayed the court to tamper Justice with mercy, while the prosecuting team urged the court to convict him accordingly.
