The Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Chief Hon. Chima Boniface Njoku, on Friday met with his Obio/Akpor counterpart, Dr. Gift Worlu, in a joint effort to address the persistent issue of land grabbing along their shared boundaries.
The meeting, which brought together the land grabbing committees of both councils as well as traditional rulers, focused on properly delineating the boundary between the two LGAs to prevent disputes and curb illegal acquisition of land.
Speaking during the engagement, the council chairmen emphasized the need for cooperation and unity in tackling the menace, noting that land grabbing has posed serious threats to peace and development in border communities.
They assured residents that both local governments will continue to take proactive measures to safeguard communal lands and foster harmonious coexistence among neighboring communities.
