The Executive Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Uzodinma Nwafor, has reinstated the Etche Security Planning and Advisory Committee ESPAC in Abara community.
This decision comes two weeks after ESPAC’s initial disbandment in Abara and Ulakwo communities due to its involvement in land grabbing.
During a meeting with Abara community leaders, youths, security agencies, held at the palace of Eze Jonah Ezebunwa-Nwala Paramount Ruler of Abara community, Dr. Nwafor emphasized that ESPAC’s restoration is necessary due to the community’s unique status as a hub for local and international organizations.
The chairman noted that to ensure accountability, members of the local security outfit will undergo profiling by security agencies.
He urged Abara chiefs to refrain from supporting land grabbers and misusing ESPAC as private security.
He further encouraged community members to maintain peace and report criminal activities to authorities.
