The Executive Chairman of Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Obinna Anyanwu has vowed to enforce the ban on political rallies in public schools without approval, inline with the directive of the state government.
Hon. Anyanwu in a statement through Spokesperson of the council, Robinson Oluor said parties must submit proof of payment and permission from the Ministry of Education for final clearance before using public schools in the LGA.
According to him, political parties and candidates who flout the directive will face the wrath of the law.
He enjoined political parties and candidates to avoid acts and conducts capable of inciting violence and tension during the electioneering process in the LGA.
Governor, Nyesom Wike had in a statement, said parties must pay the sum of five million naira, and secure approval from the state Ministry of Education before any public school is used for political rally.
