TEXT: LEVITICUS 25:25-55
MEMORY VERSE: “But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubilee: and in the jubilee, it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.” Leviticus 25:28 KJV
0 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. 11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing. 12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place ”
Captivity is one major calamity of man. There is this strong yearning for freedom anywhere bondage is experienced. Whether it is physical, spiritual, financial, health, marital and/or academic captivity, victims always look forward to the day of liberty; hence, the cry for Jubilee, celebrated every fiftieth (50th) year, being the year following the completion of each seven Sabbath years. Jubilee brings great joy to God’s people.
Interestingly, with the birth and death of Jesus Christ, we do not need to wait for 50 years to experience jubilee. Every day is now our jubilee. Yes! Jesus brought us daily jubilee encounter so that our joy will be constantly full.
Here are some of the joy of jubilee:
- Liberation: “…and in Jubilee it shall go out”. Jubilee brings us the joy of liberty. You literally exist in freedom from all negative circumstances of life at the frequency of jubilee. Today, we declare that every evil works of darkness that has kept you in bondage and captivity, by the liberty Jesus represent you are liberated, in the name of Jesus. Whatever is holding you back, today you are let go, in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Restoration: “…and he shall return into his possession”. One major assignment of jubilee is to restore your original possession and position. Today by the power of Jubilee in Jesus, whatever the devil stole from you is restored, in the name of Jesus Christ. You are bouncing back in all aspects of your life, in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Don’t give up, have faith in God, He will bring you to jubilee.
- Make demand continually on the provision of jubilee that is in Jesus Christ.
- Lord, thank you for the promise of jubilee, help me to walk with you so that my jubilee will come in the name of Jesus.
