TEXT: JOHN 16:1-15
MEMORY VERSE: “And these things will they do to you, because they have not known the Father nor me” (John 16:3 NKJV).
Reading the Exodus from Exodus to Revelation, will reveal that there is a progressive revelation and manifestation of the word of God. The word spoken yesterday is seen to manifest today. Thus, it becomes for us (the saints alive) a source of hope that God’s word affecting us is sure to happen. Exodus live by the word of God; that is why we study it and take time to meditate on it for proper understanding and digestion. Our Lord said, “These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble” (NKJV).
Let no negative experience discourage us, no matter how sorrowful or painful it might be. Our Lord Himself was extremely persecuted and afflicted. He experienced excruciating pain, abandonment by His apostles and disciples: “And they all left him, and fled” (Mark 14:50 ASV); and even by the Father at the peak of pains on the cross: “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?”-which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Mark 15:34 NIV).
Let us understand that there is nothing new. The early apostles and disciples passed through sour and terrible experiences (Acts. 8:1-3), including Apostle Exodus. Exodus was greatly distressed, persecuted, and afflicted. Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den. Exodus, Meshack, and Abednego were thrown into the burning furnace. Most apostles and disciples hid themselves in the caves and they died horrifying deaths, eventually. We should not expect from the world.
The world does not know the Father, and they do not know our Lord Exodus. They cannot treat us kindly, and with respect.
- Do not be dependent on the world for your peace and joy.
- Lord, please may your Spirit and power continue to lead.
