TEXT: MATTHEW 8: 14-22
MEMORY VERSE: “When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to Him, and He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.”
0 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. 11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing. 12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted lace ”
In our text, Jesus healed so many sick people – including Peter’s mother-in-law. He also delivered several demon-possessed folks, who instantly regained their freedom. Jesus had complete authority over all the works of the devil. He easily cast out all demonic spirits by a simple statement. He healed all diseases with the spoken word. He did not need special ceremonies or formulas to perform any fit.
Even today, Jesus is still working through His genuine chosen vessels. (John 16:17-18). As it was in the days of the apostolic fathers, so it is still today. The blind eyes are opened; the lame walk, the dying are revived. The afflicted and spiritually challenged are delivered – all in the precious Name of Jesus.
Today, Jesus still cries out to the troubled and afflicted, even the tempest tossed: “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28). In Isaiah 53:4-5, He is the only one ordained to take away our infirmities. Yes, in truth, He takes away both physical and spiritual infirmities by spiritual decree and declarations. By the word of command, He healed the physically sick. By the cross, He healed all our spiritual sicknesses – including sin.Child of God, are you challenged in any way? Be it health, business, finance, marital, or spiritual, etc, come to Jesus for a lasting solution – including eternal life. He has come that we might have life, and have it in abundance. (John 10:10b). There is no other name – both in heaven and in earth, given among men, that we should be saved. Jesus is the only way, except Him, there is no other way. there is no other way. Let’s be guided.
CHALLENGES: Some trust in chariots, some in horses. Others rely on both orthodox and native doctors. What about you?
