TEXT: ROMANS 8:24-39
MEMORY VERSE: “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).
Today’s lesson is an interesting one – a message of hope and confidence in the face of trial and temptations. It is one that would build our faith in God and make us to remain faithful, no matter the adverse situation or circumstance we may face in life.
Our Lord told us beforehand, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
In these troubled times of the End-time, there are tribulations, afflictions, trials, frustrations, distresses, sicknesses, and many more. But if we cling to the only Lord God our Saviour, we would have perfect peace. We should be confident and unworried about whatever we are passing through. We should have in our hearts the certainty of God’s presence with us, and His divine grace.
Christ has overcome the world and all its evils for us, and has given us victory. Therefore, we should not be worried or fear; for God is for us. Since this is so, who can be against us? (Rom. 8:31)
Now that this is our portion from the Lord, let us understand that before our trouble begins the Lord had already granted us victory or solved the problem. We should only be patient and wait for the manifestation. The end would be better for us: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Rom. 8:28 NKJV).
Therefore, the holy scriptures urge us to build our faith and confidence in God under all circumstances, no matter what! One thing is certain, at such times, the Holy Spirit and our Lord Jesus make intercessions for us (v 27 & 34). God the Father cannot afford not to answer them, and for our sake too.
- Wait patiently for the Lord; He would come to your help soon.
- Lord, thank you for overcoming the world, all its evils for me.
