TEXT: PROVERB 22:1-12
MEMORY VERSE: “The reward of humility and the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is riches and life” (Proverb 22:4 AMP).
God is the blesser and all blessings originate from Him. All good and perfect things come to us from Him (James 1:17 NLT).
But there is always a condition attached to every blessing we want to receive from Him. fulfilling that condition is the key to receiving such benefits and blessings. The key is simple obedience to His will for us. If we discipline ourselves to live our life by the standard of the word of God, we would receive His benefits, even when we do not ask for them. Our Lord Jesus gave us the kingdom formular: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matt. 6:33 NKJV). That is simply what we need, and nothing more.
We are called to do a true search in our hearts, to find out and tell ourselves what we truly want. Do we want God’s blessings to come to us easily or do we want to struggle through life on our own? Do we want to continue to labour and eat only through the sweat of our labour like Adam and Eve after their fall or would we let God do all the labour for us while we enjoy His benefits and blessings, as we live under His abundant grace? What kind of relationship do we want with Him? Do we want Him to be just God to us or both God and Father? Do we want Him to be our Caretaker or we want to be our own caretakers? Do we want Him to hear and answer us, even before we pray or we want Him to close His ears against our prayers? What do we actually want for ourselves in our relationship with Him? Do we want to be His sons, daughters, friends, children, and people or enemies? What do we want?
- Make a definite decision today about what you truly want in your relationship with God.
- O Lord, help to make the right decision today
