TEXT: PSALM 122:1
MEMORY VERSE: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.” Psalm 122:6 KJV.
The memory verse is very instructive. We are asked to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Praying for the peace of Jerusalem means praying for the peace of Christiadom.
In Psalm 34:14b we are asked to seek peace and follows after the things that bring peace. Are you a child of God; then be a peacemaker. Mathew 5:9 ”Blessed are the peacemaker; for they shall be called the children of God”. Jesus our Lord and Saviour is the Prince of peace Isaiah 9:6 and we should follow His footsteps.

Jeremiah 29:7 “And seek the peace of the city… for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.” KJV. We are enjoined to seek peace wherever we found ourselves: in our home, city, country in the world, church, Christendom, office etc. If there is no peace in our environment or the church of God, we will not enjoy peace: “behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity… for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.” Psalm 133:1-3.
Let us ensure that we make peace whenever and wherever it is needed. “If it is possibly as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men”. Romans 12:18 KJV
