TEXT: AMOS 6:1-8
MEMORY VERSE: “Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria; which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came.” Amos 6:1 KJV
When you go to church and do not win souls for God, you are at ease in Zion. When you go to church just to dance praises and refuse to win souls, you are at ease in Zion. Also, when you make money and use it on yourself alone, instead of using for the Lord’s work of winning souls, then you are at ease in Zion. You may end up in a curse.
Some kind of Christians we have today are slothful. The Christians of the early Christian Church had burning zeal and fire in them. Listen to Charles Spurgeon as he screamed, “Lost! Lost! Lost! Better a whole world on fire than a soul lost! Better every star quenched and the skies a wreck than a single soul to be lost.”
David MacGee said, “We should be more concerned with reaching the lost than pampering the saved.” A. W. Tozer preached, “I believe that entertainment and amusements are the work of the enemy to keep dying men from knowing they are dying; and to keep enemies of God from remembering that they are enemies.”
Why are we so relaxed and unfruitful in the church? (Matt. 21:19). Remember Christ does not condone unfruitfulness. Make haste to win a soul, lest you be cursed for not doing anything. That is the work of the church now.
