TEXT: MARK 5:17-31 KJV
MEMORY VERSE: “And they were all amazed insomuch that they questioned among themselves saying: What thing is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.” Mark 1:27 KJV
Mark records how an air of mystery surrounded Jesus throughout His lifetime. The people of His day wondered who this man was and why He acted the way He did. Earlier on in the day, He had just rebuked a legion spirit that held a young man captive, and turned him a terror in the community.
In our text, while Jairus besought Him to come to the aid of his dying daughter, a woman with twelve years issue of blood pressed on into the crowd, just to touch His garment in faith. The doctors had prescribed many supposed cures, to no avail, and she had spent all that she had, just to be cured. However, when she succeeded in touching Jesus, she was made whole instantly. Jesus’ authority to unleash the power of the supernatural manifests here His power over the living and the dead. These miracles therefore manifest the supernatural realm from which Jesus came, and the realm in which all Christians should dwell in the presence of God, even here and now.

Jesus had power over nature (Matt. 8:26-27), over devils (Mark 5:12-13), over diseases (Mark 8:13; John 5:9), over death (John 11:43-44). His resurrection was the greatest of all other miracles.(1 Cor. 15:4)..
CHALLENGES
- Jesus authority to unleash the power of the supernatural manifests His power over all creation – even over death, thereby demonstrating the supernatural realm from which He came; a realm in which all true Christians should dwell in the presence of God, even here on earth. Discuss.
PRAYER POINT
- Lord, increase my power of faith, so I can work like you. Amen.
