TEXT: MARK 16:14-20
MEMORY VERSE: “And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs” (Mark 16:20 NKJV).
He is not here now, physically. But He is everywhere with us. He sent us to preach and teach the gospel, and win souls to Him and nurture them. Whatever we do in His name, and for His praise and glory, He would stretch forth His hand from heaven and confirm it, ratify it, and bless it. We only need to make ourselves available and “fit for the Master’s use” ().
The work of the kingdom is enormous. Preaching the gospel is very important. The field is vast; and many workers are need in different dimensions. We need to have the willing heart to work in God’s vineyard. There are thorns everywhere, and on every side we turn. But they should not deter us, weaken us or make us weary. They are rather, obstacles we must overcome and win.
The challenges of life, discouragement from peers, relatives, friends, frustrations, and family have always been there. David experienced them; and so did many holy men and women of God in the time past. The apostles and disciples had terrible experiences. Despite all that happened to them, they remained strong in the Lord and worked for Him without fainting on the way: “they went out and preached everywhere.” That should be our attitude too. The Bible says, “Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come” (1 Cor 10:11 NKJV).
In the local church where we worship, it is important we engage ourselves in one unit or the other for the growth, expansion, and success of the kingdom business. We were called into it; and we should not disappoint our God. Let us please Him with our efforts and contributions.
- Identify yourself with an arm of the ministry and work.
- Lord, give me the strength to work for you successfully.
