TEXT: LUKE 18:1-14
MEMORY VERSE: “Yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice so that she won’t eventually wear me out with her coming.” Luke 18:5 NIV
The first verse of the chapter advised us to pray and not to faint. David waited patiently for the Lord and the Lord did not give him any answer. But after a while, the Lord inclined unto him and heard his prayer.
We are to pray always and not get tired of praying. The Lord is a God of love, grace, and wisdom. Life would have been meaningless and hopeless. We wait on God to give us His best at a time He considers best for us; and in His ways which are best for us too. Our waiting is not indefinite but for a while.
Daniel’s prayer was answered as soon as he started praying. But Satan hindered the answer from getting to Daniel in good time. Sometimes, God sends the answer immediately and at times the answer is delayed. It does not mean that God has forsaken us.
Therefore, whether we get the answer immediately or not, let us continue to be persistent in prayer. If a heartless judge can hear and help a widow, our heavenly Father who loves and cares for us will not forsake us.
