TEXT: MARK 16:11-20
MEMORY VERSE: “And he said unto them, go ye into the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16: 15 KJV
0 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. 11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing. 12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted lace ”
The great commission is not just a good suggestion. The moment you become a Christian is the moment you enter into ministry. As believers, we do not have a choice whether or not we should proclaim the gospel of Jesus. You might not feel like a preacher, but you are called to evangelize. Mark 16:15 says: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
As believers, we should feel indebted to sharing this message. If you knew someone was headed towards eternal destruction, wouldn’t you do everything in your power to warn him of the impending danger? Yes, you may offend someone. Yes, you may feel foolish. But shouldn’t a moment of someone’s discomfort (even yours) pale in comparison with an eternity of a soul’s damnation?
Remember that the more you preach the gospel, the more Jesus confirms His words through signs and wonders, and this will make people to believe (John 16: 17). Another reason we need to preach the gospel is that you will grow in the Spirit and no harm will come upon you (verse 18).
A faith worth having should be a faith worth sharing. So, why not tell of the great and marvelous things Jesus has done in your life?
As you go out into the world to share the gospel, whether in your workplace or home, don’t forget the gospel needs no additives. Your duty is to proclaim the gospel, not to explain the gospel. God will take care of the rest.
The world needs to hear the gospel. But how will they hear if you don’t speak?
- Learn to share the gospel with people around you
- Lord, confirm your word with signs and wonders, as I preach your gospel to the people, in Jesus name.
