TEXT: GENESIS 2:18-24
MEMORY VERSE: “And the LORD God said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” Genesis 2:18
0 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. 11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing. 12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted lace ”
God truly cares. He created man and created other living creatures to keep him company and supply his needs. The man did not ask for it, but God with his initiative made it all to satisfy man in his earthly endeavour. When a master takes the initiative to provide for and satisfy the needs of his subjects, then that master can be said to be caring.
God knows what is good for his servants. He provides the basic things of life needed to accomplish the task we have of Him on earth. Adam had a great task to keep the garden and all that was therein. For this, he no doubt needed a suitable companion like himself; not animals (vs. 18, 21; I Cor.11:9).
God’s care for His servants is all round. A human helper may provide for an aspect of life’s, needs but God’s provision is all sufficient. The creation of animals, birds, and other creatures is today the source of human survival. With them we have meat, assistance, and companionship. Till date, God does not fail to put situation in place that will give comfort to those that serve Him (vs. 20-21; Psalms 23:1-2)
The height of it all is the place of a wife in the life of a man: a fit and proper companion and a care giver. It is the best of all the gifts. When one becomes a man, a wife is introduced to him and with her the man raises a family of his own and starts an independent life from his parents (vs. 22-24).
We owe God thanks for His care for mankind. The climax of God’s love and care for humans is the gift of Jesus Christ. Those who receive and believe Christ receive eternal life in God’s kingdom. They enjoy God’s care in provision, protection, and redemption. (John 3:16).
- Do you agree that God truly cares?
- Father, you truly care and I thank you for all you have done in my life, in Jesus Name, Amen.
