ESOCS Devotional 20 October
TEXT: ACTS 26:14-32 KJV
MEMORY VERSE: “And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus, and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven.”
Our caption today looks a little bit awkward, hence it is put in inverted commas. These were the direct words into the ears of a young man (who pleads anonymity), from the spirit world, as he got stuck in the spiritual realm while observing an “astral projection” as a frater (practising member of an occult group), before he was finally arrested by the Lord, to become part of this great ministry of reconciliation. Glory be to Jesus Christ.
In our text today, Paul narrated his experience (on his way to Damascus, for persecution of the apostles), before the council and before King Agrippa. Jesus appearing to him in the course of this journey was to qualify him as a Christ-sent apostle, to witness for Jesus. In this vision, Jesus chose him a vessel and gave him divine protection, no matter the extent of persecution.
As an agent of Judaism, Paul did not believe he was doing anything contrary to God’s will until that fateful day (Acts 9:1-6). The same was the case with the young man cited above, until November 1983, when the Lord caught him up in the air during an astral travel. So where are you now? It’s better you refrain, and come back to God, on your own, before the mighty hands of the Lord catches up with you (Acts 9:3-6), or worse still, before Jesus returns (with you unprepared).

CHALLENGES
- Some are searching for God through all manners of mystical studies; some are deeply immersed in the occult trying to unravel the mystery of the universal system. But the truth is that there is no head way in any other source except through Christ, who alone has what it takes to prepare us, “till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man …” (Eph. 4:13). Meditate on this.
PRAYER POINT
- Lord, give me the grace to follow aright. Amen.
